swingin' and ziti.

I'm not in the mood to do another "picture challenge".
So, I'm not gonna do it. 'Cause you can't make me.

Today was a success. I got a haircut. That last time I got a haircut, I was in Washington and pregnant with Declan. It was right before Codi came home. Emma didn't like it when they washed my hair or cut it. I had to hold her for my most of the actual cut.
Today. Today was a completely different story. Emma sat in her stroller and played with her baby the entire time. She didn't freak out. It was awesome. She was even cooperative enough to get her bangs cut. Now, especially when she smiles, she looks like a little fortune cookie.
Following a successful haircut we went to the park. And let me tell you.
I have no problem with people talking on their phones in public. What I do have a problem with though, is when they have their phone on speaker phone and subject the entire park to their conversation with their Aunt April (yes, that was the voice on the other side of the phone), on why they got a Pilot instead of an Odyssey. Would you like to know why? Here, let me tell you, it's because she didn't want to be "that mom" because she didn't "feel like that mom". She has three kids and one on the way. SHE IS THAT MOM.
Keep in mind, I've never met this woman- I was just subjected to the most God awful  and pointless conversation for twenty minutes while trying to have a nice time with Emma.

And I did have a nice time with Emma.  :-)

(See what I mean, Fortune Cookie, all the way)

(She played her little heart out)

Now, I need to tell you about dinner. YUM! I'm getting pretty good at cooking. Home made cooking at that. We don't eat meals already prepared and for the most part eat fresh fruit and vegetables. I'm becoming a little Betty Homemaker. Anyway, while planning my meals for the next two weeks, I was on the hunt for new recipes, and I found Picky Palate and then I stumbled across Cheesy Stuffed Bake Ziti. It is as amazing as it sounds.

Try it. You'll be happy you did.
Secondly, my picky-picky toddler ate this. As well as my picky-picky husband.
Now, we'll probably be eating leftovers for a week.

sixteen.

Epic FAIL.
This whole every day thing is proving to be an epic fail. Usually, when things go south I just quit. I told myself I wasn't going to quit this.
SO, I'm just going to try and keep up with this the best I can. Some days might be a two-for-one or some days might be the way they're supposed to be.

`Day 15 - A picture that shows your true self.

This is quite the picture. I had been traveling for about 12 hours and was running completely on E due to a delayed flight, canceled flight after flight, and a little bit of freezing rain- which managed to shut down Chicago.

Anyway, I chose this picture for several reasons. On a daily basis I don't wear make up and according to the general population I look "tired" which is just a polite way of saying I look like shit.
So, I chose this because I'm nearly always tired, too often I look like complete shit, and most days I'm make up free with my babies in tow. I am the complete opposite of high maintenance.

`Day 16 - A picture of someone who inspires you.

My mama and sister inspire me.
I don't have the vocabulary to express enough how much they mean to me.
<3

Now that I think about it, I should have used this picture for both posts. Oh well.

On a side note.
I just want the world to know that I went grocery shopping today, by myself-with no help, with both of the kids.
And I kicked that grocery stores ass.

fourteen.

I feel like this picture day by day scenario is becoming a little repetitive.
And since it's becoming so repetitive for me I'm starting to get bored. When this is over I can't want to blog about whatever I want. And even then, it will probably become repetitive :-)

Day fourteen: a picture of someone you could never imagine your life without.

I can't imagine my life with out my family. My mother, my sister, my brother, my husband, my children and of course, Rinny.  Yes, my life would be a little less with out my dingo of a dog.

Years ago I was convinced I didn't want kids. I'll be honest, I don't really like other peoples kids, with the exception of my two nephews and niece, my babies and a few random little nuggets. (And when I saw few, I mean like two).
These days kids have ZERO manners, run rampant, talk back, and do whatever they please. Yes, this is a generalization and I know that all kids aren't that way. I'm just saying in general, the ones I have had the 'pleasure' of bumping into in public are snot nosed brats.

Almost two years ago, I was blessed with the most amazing, kind hearted, beautiful and intelligent little girl.
When she was born I thought "How did I live twenty years without you in my life?"
Then, I was blessed again with my handsome, precious little man.
Being a mother is something I try my best to do. I pour everything into my kids. They are my life. I can't imagine doing anything else. Being their mother just makes sense. It fits.
I could NEVER imagine my life without them. And would be beyond devastated if I had to live any day of my life without them.

I love you to the moon. And back

thirteen.

day 13- a picture of your favorite band or artist

How could you not love Jack Johnson? Honestly.
My mom went on a trip to see my brother in Hawaii and came home talking about some local on the radio who she really enjoyed. As it turns out, we liked him before everyone else heard Banana Pancakes.
His first record will probably always be my absolute favorite. However, I love all his music.
I love me some Jack Johnson.

twelve.

day 12 - a picture of something you love.

I love everything about Emma and Declan.
But above all else....

I love the way this girl smiles with her whole being.
Squity eyes. Big cheesy grin. Fortune cookie.

I love the way this guy smiles so big his whole body goes crazy.
Arms waving. Feet kicking.

Lastly, I love the way they laugh. Because as of today, they can both do that now ;)
Unfortunately, you can't catch a laugh with just a picture.

it happened, again.

I managed to forget about my poor blog again. Maybe I'm not cut out for a day-to-day type of thing. However, I have discovered I can blog via my super smart phone and I don't even have to leave my cozy bed to get my laptop. Getting up runs the risk of waking Emma, and waking the gremlin before she's ready to be up makes for a very long day.

Onward with my blogging challenge.
Yesterdays blog was to be: a picture of something you hate.
I'm really not much of a hater, there are things I don't really care for, but I don't hate much. Last night Codi was talking to me about mice. Now, for the record I don't hate mice. They're kinda cute. What I do hate is the idea of mice crawling all over me. Or my stuff. That really freaks me out and gives me the heebie-jeebies. h

day ten.

Have I mentioned that I love nap time? Have I mentioned that I am incredibly lucky my kids take naps at the same time?
It's nice. I honestly wish I was doing homework in the silence. I won't know what's going on until next week. So, for now, I'll settle with being able to blog in complete and utter silence. With the exception of the fan.
Ah... nap time.

` a picture of the person you do the most messed up things with.

Waayyyy back in the day I used to have a partner in crime. Wren. Except, she never got in trouble. Now that I think about it, I'm not quite sure how that worked out. Regardless, she has been my best friend since like the fifth grade. And that's a long time.
We don't always talk. And we most certainly are in different places in life. However, we're both mamas and we both have been through a lot together.
I laugh thinking of the stupid stuff we used to do. I'm currently laughing out loud. About a skunk incident. And if she reads this, she will laugh out loud too.
